The Jury recognises the project for the rigour and commitment of its restoration process of Singapore’s last traditional Teochew-style mansion.
The project demonstrates careful attention to historic fabric, traditional construction and the recovery of significant architectural elements. Through detailed research and skilled craftsmanship, the restoration safeguards the monument’s material character and allows its successive historical layers to remain understood. The work makes an important contribution to the continued stewardship and appreciation of Singapore’s architectural heritage.
