Singapore Architect

This project is successful in achieving its design aspiration as a ‘bridge building’ both physically through linkages between buildings and as an important social connector. The building is sensitively designed and purpose-built to suit the needs and context of its users, allowing for community interactions to take place in a daylit and naturally ventilated environment. As an urban response, the project’s sweeping curves are sensitive  towards its context and optimises opportunities for breathtaking views towards adjacent green areas, as well as incorporating a bioswale in the “valley” below it. The jury commends the design’s compelling gesture of raising above the original topographical valley to become  an important and beautifully greened pedestrian node that connects to the rest of the campus.
